Location

Marsiling MRT Station (NS8) is an above-ground Mass Rapid Transit station on the North South Line in Singapore. It serves residents living in Woodlands, Singapore Neighbourhoods 1 to 4. Because of the station's proximity to neighbouring Housing and Development Board apartment blocks, a privacy screen has been built along the tracks at the side of the station (southbound platform) facing these apartment blocks so as to ensure the privacy of the residents.

During evening peak hours on weekdays, some trains will arrive at platform B of the station to do a turnaround and arrive at platform A of the station to travel back to Jurong East, which is a prominent interchange. This turnaround train service is intended to provide more trains running between Marsiling and Jurong East.

This station was part of the Woodlands Extension when it was built.

Platform Screen Doors

As with most of the above-ground stations built in the past along the North South Line, it was initially built without Platform Screen Doors that prevent commuters from falling onto the train tracks. On 12 October 2011, the installation of the platform doors begins. On 22 December 2011, the platform screen doors began operations with Admiralty.
